PHILIA: Interfaith News and Resources for Adults Who are Attracted to Minors

    September 2006

This is the home page of the Philia sites, which provide news and resources to religious support groups for adults who are attracted to minors. The sites offer interfaith and secular material that will be of interest to minor-attracted adults and to other people seeking information about pedophilia and pederasty.

Philia News Archive (the Greek word for friendship) covers news from religious support groups for adults who are attracted to minors. The magazine also covers interfaith news that may be of interest to members of those groups.

Unconditional Love provides interfaith resources for adults who are attracted to minors.

Invitation to the Table provides resources for pastors and other church leaders wishing to minister to adults who are attracted to minors.

Sex Offender Recovery Links explores secular and faith-based recovery for sex offenders, especially people who have committed child sexual abuse. Some of these resources are also directed toward adults who are attracted to minors but who are not sex offenders.

Daring Dialogue lists forums, both religious and secular, where people may engage in dialogue with adults who are attracted to minors.

Prevent Violence Against Pedophiles is dedicated to preventing violence against adults who are attracted to minors or against people who are wrongly thought to be pedophiles or pederasts.

The Christian Consultation on Adult Attraction to Minors holds an annual gathering to bring together Christians (and some non-Christians) who are willing to enter into dialogue about adult attraction to minors. The goals of these encounters are to promote understanding, reflection, and interaction in a non-threatening environment; to discuss  theological implications; and to meet for mutual support and encouragement. The Consultation includes Christians who are attracted to minors, as well as those who are not.

Pais links to articles on the history of adult attraction to young people. This Web directory examines both secular and religious topics.

The purpose of the Philia sites is to provide information on the ways in which minor-attracted adults approach their faith lives and the ways in which faith communities and secular society are attempting to support and guide minor-attracted adults. Philia News publishes and links to news articles and Unconditional Love publishes and links to opinion items and information items. Invitation to the Table and Sex Offender Recovery Links direct visitors to further resources. Daring Dialogue, Prevent Violence Against Pedophiles and The Christian Consultation on Adult Attraction to Minors offer opportunities for outsiders to learn more about modern minor-attracted adults. Pais examines the historical roots of adult attraction to minors.
