Ex-Gay Ministry Starts Support Group Devoted to Pedophilia

Metanoia Ministries, a Christian sexual recovery organization in Seattle, Washington, is planning to begin a support group for men who are sexually attracted to boys.

Director Rob Taylor says that the support group will be for men who have acted on their desires as well as men who have not. "The idea for the group came about because one of the men I was in group with years ago came from this background," says Mr. Taylor. "He and I are friends and when I became the director at Metanoia Ministries we had men coming to the group for help (with the same struggles)."

Mr. Taylor is still trying to determine the location and starting date for the group.

Metanoia is a referral ministry for Exodus International, an umbrella organization for Christian groups that seek to "restore sexual wholeness to men and women who desire to overcome their homosexuality." A number of groups associated with Exodus International minister to adults who are attracted to minors, including Broken Yoke Ministries, which publishes a newsletter for imprisoned child molesters. Metanoia Ministries, though, will be the only Exodus organization to offer a real-life support group specifically devoted to pedophilia.
